RouteOne Offers "2016 FTC Update" Compliance Webinar For Dealers

Thursday, March 3, 2016

RouteOne presented a webinar to help dealers better understand and address recent auto financing industry developments from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). This complimentary compliance webinar entitled ‘2016 FTC Update,’ was held on Wednesday, March 09, 2016 at 12 PM EST. The session covered the following topics:

  • An introduction to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC);
  • The FTC’s plans to conduct a consumer experience survey regarding auto purchases financed through dealers; and
  • Recent developments and consent orders.

As a result of the growing costs and complexity of compliance, this session is for any dealer that wants to stay on top of recent compliance developments.  According to the NADA report The Impact of Federal Regulations on Franchised Automobile Dealerships, "the average dealership incurred $182,754 annually in federal regulatory compliance costs, or 21.7% of before-tax net profits.”  Access to relevant and timely information can help minimize those costs as much as possible, while still addressing legal and regulatory requirements.

“As a service to the industry, RouteOne is pleased to provide educational opportunities to help dealers with their compliance efforts” said RouteOne’s CEO, Mike Jurecki.  “With tools like our dealer rate exception form, automated adverse action notice mailing service, and ID verification, we are also committed to providing technology designed specifically for dealers’ evolving compliance needs.”

Following the live presentation, a Q&A session was also open to webinar attendees. Dealers and finance sources may view a recording copy of the presentation here.
